Description
I am putting up for sale PHP Script Search which is a repository of PHP based scripts and programs that was launched in late 2002. The web site is custom developed and is in need of a serious overhaul to bring the code up to date as the programming has not been touched since 2005.
I initially launched this project as a method of promoting my own scripts and programs which I stopped creating in 2005. Obviously at that point my interest in this site also plummeted and I stopped maintaining it, other than ensuring it was running. I have not approved any script submissions since 2005 and there are some 1000+ pending.
The administration for this site is non-existent, because I am a programmer I carried out all maintenance via PHPMyAdmin as day to day management for me was quite easy with this tool.
Included in the sale are the following domain names:
phpscriptsearch.com - Created 24th Sept 2002 - Expires 24th Sept 2009
aspscriptsearch.com - Created 10th Feb 2003 - Expires 10th Feb 2010
jsscriptsearch.com - Created 10th Feb 2003 - Expires 10th Feb 2010
perlscriptsearch.com - Created 10th Feb 2003 - Expires 10th Feb 2010
All domains are registered with GoDaddy.
It was my intention to create a network of sites with each site focusing on a specific language. Each site would then link into the others via some form of network bar... cross promoting, etc, etc.
History
You can find plenty of historical entries in the Internet Archive for this web site:

Revenue
When I first launched the site I started out with a few affiliate offers via Commission Junction, as far as I can recall these did not convert and I no longer have access to the CJ account to check back.
In late 2004 I upgraded the web site so that the top spots in a category could be purchased on a weekly basis, the system only generated one sale of $30 in 2005 largely due to the fact that I lost interest in the project and stopped approving listings as explained above.
On the 8th of July 2005 I integrated the Google AdSense program into the site and this makes up the bulk of the earnings:
2005 $202.47 + $30.00
2006 $184.43
2007 $75.60
2008 $61.69
2009 $23.14
Traffic
I only have traffic statistics from 2006 onwards as the server log files prior to this were lost during a server move. I have attached screenshots from 2006 onwards from AWStats.
I did install Google Analytics on the site in August 2006 and I have attached a large screenshot showing the full period including the traffic sources, etc. If you would like to be added to the Analytics for a better look then send me a message with your email address.
Promotion
In terms of promotion I only ever submitted the site to a few directories (including DMOZ) and added the link to my signature on a few forums. Other than that everything has been natural.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
*Please note the reserve is much lower than the BIN price. I only entered that price because this system forced me to, I do not like setting BIN prices and I wanted this to be an auction.

Ultimate, I have sent you a PM. And yes I did like the site back then, I'm guessing the post you found was on DevShed or SEO Chat which was when I was a bit more into my scripting than I am now. I still like the site, just don't have the time for it anymore and think someone else could do better with it.
Cheers
Adrian
